The first Ford Mustang’s rolled onto Australian soil this morning but no you can’t have one; they’re sold out until 2017.
The first 500 cars were dropped off in Melbourne this morning ahead of its showroom debut in January. According to Drive Ford has received 20,000 expressions of interest, with over 4,000 of those putting money down.
To put that in perspective: Mustang demand is triple what it was for the mythical (to us) Ford Falcon V8. The Aussies are living up to their reputation as speed freaks too; 86 percent of buyers optioned the 5.0 Coyote V8.
We also hear that Ford Oz is gearing up to sell Roush Performance parts to the terminally addicted through official dealer channels.
